MELANIE DUBIN
Sustainable Investment Analyst
Melanie has dedicated her career to facilitating meaningful change and robust sustainability practices for public and private organizations. Melanie joined Avalon in 2017 to deepen and broaden the company’s sustainability investment practice. She is responsible for formalizing Avalon’s sustainability framework, integrating ESG and impact metrics across the company’s internal and external reporting, communicating complex sustainability principles to diverse audiences, and keeping abreast of the rapidly evolving impact investing landscape.
After receiving her MBA in Finance, Melanie worked for New Mexico’s multi-billion dollar permanent endowment managing private equity investments in real estate and real assets. Prior to 2015, Melanie led sustainability initiatives at the United States Green Building Council, a DC-based non-profit, certifying hundreds of buildings in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Prior to that, she spent four years with Davis Langdon (now AECOM) managing green building projects and establishing the firm’s corporate sustainability program. Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, a Masters of Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability from Blekinge Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of New Mexico.
